Scholarship Applications are no longer being accepted for 2008

The application for Summer 2009 will be available February 1, 2009
 

 Scholarship applications will be available beginning February 1, 2009, on our web site at www.arrowbearmusicassoc.org. You can type your information directly into the interactive screen, and then print it out all ready to go. You can also contact our Scholarship Co-Chairperson Laura Kusaba at 562-634-5158 or by email at Lkusaba@sbcglobal.net to request a paper application after February 1. Last summer we granted $25,430 in scholarships to 49 recipients. Most scholarships awarded are for one-half to three-fourths of the cost of a session. There are a limited number of full scholarships available. We grant scholarships to both choral and instrumental applicants. Recipients are chosen based on both need and merit. Nearly all of our recipients would not have been able to attend a summer music camp without financial assistance. Applications are due in mid-April. We notify all applicants by the middle of May. The process includes a written application, a cassette tape or CD of a solo with or without accompaniment, a letter written by the applicant explaining why he or she needs a scholarship, and a recommendation letter from a private or school music teacher.

We’d really like to encourage choral campers to apply for a scholarship. There is one full scholarship available and, of course, we offer partial scholarships to other choral applicants. We’ve been sadly lacking in choral applicants every year. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to have all or part of your fees paid for by alumni.
